When you donate a car locally in Boston through Revive Rides, your gift stays connected to your own community. We arrange a free pickup right at your home, garage, or curb, and the proceeds support Heritage for the Blind’s mission serving people who are blind or visually impaired. Whether you’re in the North End, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Back Bay, or Roxbury, we coordinate with a local tow operator who knows Greater Boston’s streets, traffic, and parking rules.
We serve the full region: from Somerville, Cambridge, Brookline, Newton, and Quincy to Malden, Medford, Chelsea, Revere, and out through Waltham, Framingham, and beyond. Your vehicle is picked up by a local driver, usually with a flatbed or standard tow truck, depending on your situation. You don’t have to drive anywhere or deal with buyers; we handle the logistics, towing, and paperwork guidance at no cost to you. Donating locally means less hassle, an easy pickup at your door, and real support for Heritage for the Blind’s services that reach people in Boston and across Massachusetts.
How to schedule your free local pickup
1. Share your Boston-area vehicle details
Start online or by phone and tell us your Boston-area location, vehicle year, make, model, and whether it runs. Let us know if you’re in a dense neighborhood like Beacon Hill or a suburb like Newton so we can plan the right truck and timing.
2. Choose a convenient local pickup time
We’ll match you with a local tow operator serving your part of Greater Boston and suggest the earliest available dates. In the city, we often work around street-cleaning and resident parking rules; in outlying towns, we coordinate around longer driving routes.
3. Prepare keys, title, and access
Before pickup, locate your Massachusetts title if you have it, remove personal items, and clear a spot where the tow truck can safely reach the vehicle. In tight Boston streets, we may ask you to park on the closest accessible block or driveway.
4. Meet the driver or arrange no-contact pickup
On pickup day, the local tow operator will call ahead. You can meet them with the signed title and keys, or follow instructions for a no-contact handoff when possible. They’ll load the vehicle and confirm your donation information on the spot.
5. Receive your tax receipt and support Heritage for the Blind
After your vehicle is sold, Revive Rides sends you a tax receipt, often qualifying you for a $500+ deduction. The proceeds support Heritage for the Blind’s services for people who are blind or visually impaired, including programs that reach Massachusetts residents.
Local pickup gotchas
Tight Boston streets and permit parking
Tip: Neighborhoods like South End, Beacon Hill, and the North End can be tricky for flatbeds. Let us know if your street is one-way, very narrow, or resident-permit only. We may schedule for a time or nearby spot where the truck can legally and safely load your car.
Gated garages, lots, and HOA rules
Tip: If your vehicle is in a secured garage, apartment lot, or HOA community (common in places like East Boston, Brighton, or Quincy), share gate codes, garage height limits, and any parking rules up front so the driver can access your vehicle without delays or rescheduling.
Very rural or outlying Massachusetts addresses
Tip: If you’re well outside the core Greater Boston area—toward towns west of I‑495, down toward Plymouth, or into more rural parts of Massachusetts—pickups may take a bit longer while we route a local truck. Flexible days and windows help us schedule you faster.
Missing keys or title surprises
Tip: We can often still help if you’ve lost keys or don’t have the Massachusetts title, but it may change how we process the donation. Tell us your exact situation in advance so we can give realistic timing and instructions that fit Massachusetts rules.
If at-home pickup is tricky
If at-home pickup is tricky for your exact situation, there are still good local options. In some cases, a friend or family member in a more accessible area of Boston, Cambridge, or a nearby suburb can host the vehicle so our tow operator can load it safely. If your car is at a repair shop or storage lot, we can usually coordinate pickup directly with them. And if your vehicle is not movable at all, we’ll talk through what’s possible within Massachusetts rules and towing capabilities before you decide.
Boston pickup coverage
Revive Rides serves the whole Greater Boston area: city neighborhoods like Allston, Brighton, Mattapan, and West Roxbury; inner suburbs like Somerville, Cambridge, Brookline, Quincy, and Everett; and outlying communities including Waltham, Framingham, Braintree, and beyond. In dense city areas, scheduling may depend on traffic, snow emergencies, and parking restrictions, while outer towns may need a longer routing window. For Massachusetts, you’ll typically sign over the title to complete the donation and remove your plates before the car is towed; then return or transfer plates per RMV guidance. We’ll walk you through these basics, but final legal questions should go to the Massachusetts RMV or your tax professional.
