Connecting Boston neighbors to vital resources through vehicle donations.

Our mission, our story, and why this work matters locally.

How we started

Revive Rides was born out of a simple yet powerful realization: many Boston residents were eligible for essential benefits but were unaware or unable to access them. In 2018, a group of local volunteers started holding community meetings in neighborhoods like Dorchester and Roxbury. They discovered that countless families were struggling to make ends meet, navigating a complicated benefits landscape that included programs like SNAP and MassHealth.

Recognizing that many of these families had cars they no longer used, the team had an idea. What if they could turn vehicle donations into a source of funding for a free benefits-research service? Thus, Revive Rides was born—a program designed not only to accept car donations but to actively connect our neighbors with the resources they need to thrive.

Our mission

At Revive Rides, our mission is to uplift Boston communities by connecting residents with crucial benefits like SNAP, TAFDC, WIC, and LIHEAP. We believe that everyone deserves access to essential resources that can improve their quality of life. Through our vehicle donation program, we strive to eliminate barriers that prevent eligible residents from enrolling in programs designed to support their families. Together, we can create a more informed and empowered Boston.

Our principles

Why this city

Boston is a city rich in diversity, but it also has areas where residents face significant barriers to accessing essential benefits. Neighborhoods like Mattapan and East Boston show particularly high enrollment gaps in programs like MassHealth and WIC. With a mix of cultures and languages, it’s vital that we provide localized assistance. At Revive Rides, we aim to bridge these gaps, ensuring every Boston resident knows about the benefits they qualify for, fostering a stronger, more resilient city.
